In-Depth Holo Mini User Guide
Getting started, daily use, safety notes, and troubleshooting
Overview
Holo Mini is a lightweight, wrist-worn medical alert device designed to help you quickly reach a live operator in an emergency. It has one main front button (your Help button) and a small reset button on the back.
Set aside 15–20 minutes for your first setup. After that, daily use is simple: wear it, charge it, and test it weekly.
1. What’s in the box
You should have:
• Holo Mini with wristband attached
• Charging cradle
• Power cord
If anything is missing or damaged, contact us before use.
2. Know your Holo Mini
Front
• Help button (main button): Used to place a call for help and (when needed) cancel a fall detection alert.
Back
• Reset button: A small button used to restart the device if it becomes unresponsive.
Comfort and fit
• Holo Mini weighs about 1.2 ounces with the wristband, designed for all-day wear.
3. Charging your Holo Mini
Charging time
• A full charge typically takes 2–3 hours.
What you’ll need
• Your Holo Mini
• Charging cradle + power cord
• A wall outlet (recommended: plug directly into the wall, not a power strip or extension cord)
Step-by-step
-
Plug the charging cradle into a wall outlet.
-
Look for the red light on the cradle. This means the cradle has power.
-
Place your Holo Mini face-up into the cradle.
-
Listen for a click and the device voice prompt “Charging.”
-
Let it charge until the red light on the device button turns solid. That indicates the device is fully charged.
Daily charging tip
• Charge your Holo Mini every night so it’s always ready when you need it.
Battery life (by mode)
• Always On mode: Approximately 1–2 days per full charge
• Ready mode: Up to about 7 days per full charge
• Your device will announce when the battery is low.
If you hear “Battery low”
• Place the device in the charging cradle as soon as you can. The device will still work while charging.
4. Wearing your device
Putting on the wristband (about 2 minutes)
-
Slide your hand through the wristband.
-
Adjust the strap so it fits snugly but comfortably.
-
Secure the clasp.
Fit tip
• Wear it like a watch. Snug enough that it doesn’t slide around, loose enough to be comfortable.
Other ways to wear (optional accessories)
If you prefer not to wear Holo Mini on your wrist, optional accessories may be available:
• Lanyard
• Belt clip
Contact us if you’d like these.
Changing the wristband
• Holo Mini uses standard 24mm quick-release watch bands.
• To swap the band, use the small quick-release pins on each side of the band.
5. Calling for help (most important feature)
How to call for help
-
Press and hold the Help button for 1 second.
-
Watch for the blue light (this means your call is connecting).
-
Wait for an operator to answer (usually within a few seconds).
-
Speak normally. The operator can hear you clearly.
What happens next
• The operator will stay on the line with you and send help if needed, based on your situation.
If you press the button by accident
• That’s okay. Simply tell the operator it was accidental and that you’re safe.
Ending a call
• The operator will usually end the call when you’re finished.
• If you need to end the call yourself, press and hold the Help button for 6 seconds.
6. Fall detection (optional feature)
Important note
• Fall detection is optional and must be enabled by your dealer. If you’re unsure whether it’s enabled, contact us.
How fall detection works
• If the device senses a fall, it will say “Fall detected” out loud.
• You have 12 seconds to cancel the alert if you’re okay.
If a fall is detected
-
The device announces “Fall detected.”
-
If you are okay, press the Help button to cancel within 12 seconds.
-
If you do not cancel within 12 seconds, the device automatically calls an operator.
Key reassurance
• Fall detection is a helpful backup, but no device can detect every fall. If you fall and need help, always press the Help button yourself if you can.
7. Testing your device (weekly)
Why testing matters
• A weekly test confirms your device is working and helps you stay comfortable using it.
How to test (about 2 minutes)
-
Press and hold the Help button for 1 second.
-
Wait for the operator to answer.
-
Tell them you are testing your device.
Tip for consistency
• Choose a regular weekly time (example: Sunday morning) to make it easy to remember.
8. Care, cleaning, and water safety
Daily care
• Wear it as much as possible.
• Charge it every night.
That’s usually all you need.
Cleaning (once a week)
• Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth.
• Do not spray water or cleaning products directly on the device.
Water safety
• Shower-safe: Yes (handwashing and showering are okay).
• Not for full submersion: Do not wear it swimming or in a bath.
Pacemaker and medical implants
• Holo Mini contains small magnets. If you have a pacemaker or other medical implant, talk to your doctor before using the device.
9. Troubleshooting

-
Locate the small reset button on the back of the device.
-
Press it with a pen tip for 1–2 seconds.

-
If this happens often in your home, contact us so we can help troubleshoot coverage.
